Kofi B. Acheampong, Ph.D., P.E., D. GE, ENV SP.

Dr. Acheampong is a senior engineer with over thirty years of broad and in-depth multi-disciplinary experience in Geotechnical/Civil engineering/Structural, and construction experience, from field engineering to project management. He has prime technical responsibility and extensive progressive experience in geo-structures and environmental geotechnology and responsible for numerous projects involving subsurface drainage systems, specialty deep foundations, off-shore and coastal construction, earthquake/seismic engineering, soil liquefaction evaluations, highway and railroad bridge structures projects. He has extensive knowledge in constructible innovation, soil-structure modeling, and failure analyses. He demonstrates creativity, foresight and mature engineering judgment, with skills in leading/participating in multi-disciplinary and design/build teams in project planning and construction; managing budgets, and supervises the work of engineering personnel.    He has consulted for the Connecticut Dept of Transportation, MD SHA and FHWA in highway and bridge foundation.  He has experience in international projects in the USA, Ghana, Israel, and the West Indies.

Dr. Acheampong is a registered Professional Engineer, with a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering from University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA; a master in Structural Engineering from Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel, and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. He is also a Diplomate in Geotechnical Engineering (D.GE) – the highest professional designation in Geotech by the Academy of Geo professionals); and ENV SP – Environmental Sustainability Professional – issued by the Institute of Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI).
